What was so great about this baptism was the powerful spirit that accompanied it! The talks were great, the musical number was beautiful, and the presence of the Holy Ghost was very apparent.

Experiences like that are what continue to feed my testimony that this is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. I’m grateful to be a part of something that helps and my friends become better people!

The wise men brought gifts to the Savior when He was born to show their reverence and love.

Jesus Christ offers us the gift of hope. “And what is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise” (Moroni 7:41).

The gifts of immortality and eternal life are available to us only through the Savior and His Atonement.

All of these gifts are centered in the gift of Christ’s birth. His birth is an expression of the love our Heavenly Father has for all of us.

The final sentence of the Living Christ document appropriately expresses the spirit of the season. “God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son.”

He spoke about how our careers are the most immediate ways to measure success in terms of rolling out a new product or generating revenue, but our relationships with family, friends, and God are much more substantial. At the very least, he encouraged graduates to have a sense of purpose before starting their careers, otherwise, they would be going to out to see without a rudder.

Creating a strategy for your life keeps a person grounded in principles that will help them succeed in that which matters most. Careers, as important as they are, are but one measure of success. He mentioned that which he was studying econometrics at Oxford, he dedicated an hour a day to the study of the scriptures, which helped him find his purpose in life. He uses econometrics a few times a year, but the knowledge he gained in the scriptures, he uses everyday.

I’m grateful to be part of a Church that teaches me my true purpose in life and how that is interlaced with my career and education. Spiritual education should be foundation for the secular education and experience we receive. With that purpose as the strategy for our future, the measure of our lives becomes very clear.

Apple named Flipboard the App of the Year today, which I found interesting considering I had never heard of it before. But after downloading today, I can see why it received such high accolades. It has a beautiful interface for reading media including all your news sites that are specially formatted for Flipboard. Moving around the articles is just like flipping a page and just as fast! Facebook and Twitter are even integrated to look like news publications with your friends photos and comments. If you have an iPad, I highly recommend this app!

I made it through my first trimester of B-school! OB , Stats, and B2B Marketing are now in the rearview mirror. The first major hurdle is complete! I’m a sixth of the way through business school! Now we have Econ, Accounting, and CRM. Should be a good tri.

It is always a delight to gather together with saints all over the world to listen to messages from the Prophet and the Apostles of Jesus Christ. Hearing their witness of the Savior increases my testimony that He lives.

One of my favorite messages was from Bishop Edgley. His final words were, “let us choose faith.” That is an inspiring plea to replace doubt with that strengthening virtue.

Conference weekend is a great time to reflect on what is important and how to do better. I love this Church!
